Can I claim critical illness cover more than once?

Critical illness cover
The short answer

It depends on the policy. Standard critical illness cover usually pays out once in full, then ends. Some policies pay partial amounts for less severe conditions and continue cover afterwards. Others offer multiple-claim cover for different conditions. Check your policy schedule for how claims affect your remaining cover.

Partial payments

Payments for less severe conditions usually reduce the main amount or are paid in addition up to a limit.

Children's cover

Claims for children are often paid without reducing your own cover.

Combined life cover

If life and critical illness cover are combined, a full critical illness claim may end the life cover too.
