What happens to my critical illness cover after I claim?
Critical illness
The short answer
After a full claim, standalone critical illness cover usually ends. If it is combined with life cover, the life cover may end too. Partial payments for less severe conditions normally leave some cover in place. Children's claims usually do not reduce your cover. Your insurer will confirm what remains after a claim.
Separate life cover
If you have a separate life policy, it continues unaffected.
Multiple-claim policies
Some policies let you claim more than once for different conditions.
Premiums
If your cover ends, premiums stop. If it continues, your premium may change.
