I've moved back to the UK — should I update my insurer?

All protection
The short answer

Yes. Tell your insurer your new UK address and contact details so they can reach you, especially about payments or changes to your policy. If you moved abroad during the policy, check whether any changes were made to your cover at that time and whether they still apply now you are back.

Bank details

If you changed bank accounts while abroad, make sure the direct debit is from an active UK account to avoid missed payments.

Check your cover

Some policies restrict cover in certain countries or for long periods abroad. Confirm with your insurer that your cover is unaffected now you are resident in the UK again.

Review your needs

A move is a good time to check that your cover still matches your mortgage, income and family circumstances.
