Do I need life insurance if I don't have a mortgage?
Possibly. A mortgage is a common reason for life cover, but not the only one. If a partner, children or anyone else relies on your income, rent payments or care, life insurance can help them keep going. If nobody would be financially affected by your death, you may not need it.
Renters
Your family would still need to pay rent and bills. Cover can replace your income for a period.
Funeral and debts
Some people take smaller cover to pay for a funeral or other debts.
Employer cover
Check whether you have death-in-service benefit through work, and whether it would be enough.
