How do I know this message about my policy is genuine?

All protection
The short answer

If a message is unexpected, check it before acting. Do not click links or share passwords or bank details. Contact the firm using a number or website from your policy documents or its official site, not details in the message. Genuine firms will not pressure you to act immediately.

Warning signs

Urgency, threats your cover will end, requests for full card or bank details, or a sender name that does not match your insurer or adviser.

Check the firm

You can check regulated firms on the FCA Register.

Report scams

Forward suspicious texts to 7726 and report scams to Action Fraud or Report Fraud.
