Why has my application been postponed?
Underwriting
The short answer
An insurer may postpone an application if you are waiting for test results, undergoing treatment or have recently had a health event, so it can assess the outcome before offering terms. It is not a refusal. The insurer should tell you when you can reapply and what information they will need.
Keep existing cover
Do not cancel any current policy while a new application is postponed.
Other insurers
Another insurer may be able to offer terms sooner.
Reapplying
Have up-to-date details of your treatment and results ready.
